Divers efforts sont d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s en Europe pour mettre en place leur propre production de batteries. L&rsquo;objectif de Si-DRIVE est de d\u00e9velopper une cellule d&rsquo;ici 2030 compos\u00e9e d&rsquo;une anode en silicium nanostructur\u00e9e, d&rsquo;un nouvel \u00e9lectrolyte solide \u00e0 base de liquides ioniques et d&rsquo;une cathode totalement exempte de cobalt mais riche en lithium. Une cellule dot\u00e9e de cette structure et d&rsquo;un programme de recyclage complet pourrait permettre une production durable de batteries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\">\u00ab\u00a0Ce qui est remarquable avec ce projet est que nous travaillons ensemble pour couvrir toutes les \u00e9tapes de la cha\u00eene de valeur des batteries, du d\u00e9veloppement des mat\u00e9riaux \u00e0 la production de prototypes de cellules et au recyclage\u00a0\u00bb, explique le professeur Stefano Passerini, directeur de l&rsquo;HIU. Son groupe de recherche d\u00e9veloppe le nouveau mat\u00e9riau de cathode sans cobalt avec des \u00e9l\u00e9ments non critiques comme le fer ou l\u2019aluminium. La Commission europ\u00e9enne a class\u00e9 le cobalt en tant que mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re \u00ab\u00a0critique\u00a0\u00bb car il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une ressource rare et g\u00e9opolitiquement difficile d&rsquo;acc\u00e8s, ce qui peut entra\u00eener des goulots d&rsquo;\u00e9tranglement dans l&rsquo;approvisionnement. De plus, en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo, o\u00f9 se d\u00e9roule l&rsquo;essentiel de l&rsquo;extraction, l&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ment est parfois extrait avec le travail des enfants et des conditions inhumaines. \u00ab\u00a0Dans le m\u00eame temps, nous souhaitons augmenter de mani\u00e8re significative la teneur en lithium du rev\u00eatement de la cathode par rapport aux mat\u00e9riaux conventionnels afin de parvenir \u00e0 une augmentation significative de la densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique\u00a0\u00bb, explique Passerini.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\">Cinq partenaires du projet travailleront \u00e9galement sur le concept d&rsquo;\u00e9conomie en boucle ferm\u00e9e afin d&rsquo;identifier d&rsquo;autres applications. Des sc\u00e9narios sont envisageables dans lesquels des batteries \u00abbas \u00e2ge\u00bb de voitures \u00e9lectriques sont combin\u00e9es et r\u00e9utilis\u00e9es comme unit\u00e9s de stockage stationnaire. Le concept de l&rsquo;anode et de l&rsquo;\u00e9lectrolyte suivent \u00e9galement ce concept de durabilit\u00e9, de sorte qu&rsquo;un taux de recyclage de plus de 50% doit finalement \u00eatre atteint. Les nanostructures de l&rsquo;anode sont con\u00e7ues de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 permettre la stabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 long terme gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une g\u00e9om\u00e9trie id\u00e9ale.&nbsp;<\/span> <span class=\"tlid-translation translation\">La structure de l&rsquo;anode sera optimis\u00e9e par mod\u00e9lisation de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 ce que l&rsquo;expansion du volume et la d\u00e9formation m\u00e9canique puissent \u00eatre compens\u00e9es de la meilleure fa\u00e7on possible tout en maintenant une densit\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie maximale.
