ESIEE Paris, l\u2019\u00e9cole o\u00f9 tout a commenc\u00e9 pour Yann LeCun<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Au cours de ses \u00e9tudes d\u2019ing\u00e9nieur \u00e0 ESIEE Paris, Yann LeCun a pu r\u00e9aliser ses premiers projets sur l\u2019apprentissage automatique. \u00ab Ce qui m\u2019a plu \u00e0 ESIEE Paris, c\u2019est la libert\u00e9 laiss\u00e9e aux \u00e9tudiants pour travailler sur des projets individuels et la bienveillance des enseignants pour les accompagner dans ces projets \u00bb explique Yann LeCun. Passionn\u00e9 par le domaine de l\u2019Intelligence Artificielle, il a poursuivi en th\u00e8se \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Pierre et Marie Curie. \u00ab Je passais le plus clair de mon temps de mon doctorat \u00e0 l\u2019ESIEE pour l\u2019environnement scientifique mais aussi parce que l\u2019\u00e9tablissement disposait d\u2019ordinateurs tr\u00e8s puissants, ce qui \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s rare pour l\u2019\u00e9poque \u00bb souligne Yann LeCun.  C\u2019est dans les locaux de l\u2019\u00e9cole qu\u2019il a \u00e9labor\u00e9 son algorithme de r\u00e9tropropagation du gradient \u00e0 l\u2019origine de toutes les m\u00e9thodes actuelles de l\u2019apprentissage profond. C\u2019est cet algorithme qui lui a valu, en grande partie, le prix Turing qu\u2019il vient de recevoir.<\/p>\n

Des collaborations qui se poursuivent<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yann LeCun a toujours conserv\u00e9 des liens \u00e9troits avec ESIEE Paris : co-encadrement de th\u00e8ses,publications d\u2019articles, colloques, recrutement d\u2019une dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e et doctorante ESIEE dans le laboratoire d\u2019IA de Facebook qu\u2019il dirige… Il a \u00e9galement parrain\u00e9 la promotion 2018 des ing\u00e9nieurs ESIEE Paris.<\/p>\n

ESIEE Paris, une \u00e9cole pionni\u00e8re en Intelligence Artificielle<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

D\u00e8s 1984, Gilles Bertrand, enseignant-chercheur \u00e0 ESIEE Paris, cr\u00e9\u00e9 le laboratoire de recherche \u00ab\u00a0IAAI\u00a0\u00bb (Intelligence Artificielle et Analyse d’Images). Parmi les quatre premiers dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s ESIEE \u00e0 poursuivre en doctorat, trois, dont Yann LeCun, ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 leur th\u00e8se dans le domaine de l\u2019Intelligence Artificielle. En 1985, le premier cours d\u2019Intelligence Artificielle est introduit dans les programmes des \u00e9l\u00e8ves-ing\u00e9nieurs.Depuis, le th\u00e8me de l\u2019IAAI n\u2019a cess\u00e9 d\u2019\u00eatre pr\u00e9sent dans les enseignements. En 2018, ESIEE Paris a cr\u00e9\u00e9 une fili\u00e8re \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re en Datascience et Intelligence Artificielle. D\u00e9sormais, tous les \u00e9tudiants peuvent suivre, d\u00e8s la 2e ann\u00e9e post-bac, des enseignements en IA et AI.<\/p>\n

Une reconnaissance mondiale en IA appliqu\u00e9e aux images<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

ESIEE Paris poursuit cette dynamique et a constitu\u00e9 en partenariat avec le CNRS, l\u2019Ecole des ponts et l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Paris Est Marne-la-Vall\u00e9e, une \u00e9quipe de recherche (A3SI) reconnue au meilleur niveau mondialen Intelligence Artificielle appliqu\u00e9es aux images et en particulier en morphologie math\u00e9matique et topologie discr\u00e8te. Cette \u00e9quipe, membre du laboratoire LIGM, est compos\u00e9e de 25 enseignants-chercheurs dont la moiti\u00e9 est rattach\u00e9e \u00e0 ESIEE Paris.<\/p>\n
