Afin de pouvoir fournir des courants d\u00e9passant les limites de la technologie LPD, Vicor fait&nbsp;\u0153uvre&nbsp;de pionnier avec sa distribution de puissance verticale (VPD pour Vertical Power Delivery), qui permettra bient\u00f4t des densit\u00e9s de courant encore plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es.&nbsp;La technologie VPD fournit le courant \u00e0 partir de convertisseurs de puissance positionn\u00e9s directement sous le processeur, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un r\u00e9seau de condensateurs dispos\u00e9s selon le brochage sp\u00e9cifique du processeur \u00e0 alimenter. Un GCM (\u00ab\u00a0Geared Current Multiplier\u00a0\u00bb) est une version de VPD sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e, dont le r\u00e9seau de condensateurs&nbsp;\u00ab\u00a0Gearbox\u00a0\u00bb&nbsp;constitue l\u2019une des couches de la pile verticale.
