{"id":484063,"date":"2025-08-04T10:46:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T08:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eenewseurope.com\/?p=484063"},"modified":"2025-08-04T10:46:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T08:46:10","slug":"une-puce-photonique-terahertz-pour-les-communications-et-la-detection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ecinews.fr\/fr\/une-puce-photonique-terahertz-pour-les-communications-et-la-detection\/","title":{"rendered":"Une puce photonique-t\u00e9rahertz pour les communications et la d\u00e9tection"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Des scientifiques de l\u2019EPFL Lausanne et de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Harvard ont mis au point une puce capable de convertir des impulsions \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tiques dans les domaines t\u00e9rahertz et optique sur le m\u00eame dispositif.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>\u00a0Cette\u00a0 conception int\u00e9gr\u00e9e pourrait permettre le d\u00e9veloppement de dispositifs pour les t\u00e9l\u00e9communications ultrarapides, la t\u00e9l\u00e9m\u00e9trie, la spectroscopie et l\u2019informatique. <span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Cette recherche a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9e dans\u00a0<em>Nature<\/em><em> Communications<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Le rayonnement t\u00e9rahertz d\u00e9crit une bande d\u2019ondes sur le spectre \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique dont les fr\u00e9quences sont sup\u00e9rieures aux micro-ondes (utilis\u00e9es dans les technologies de t\u00e9l\u00e9communications comme le Wi-Fi) mais inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re infrarouge (utilis\u00e9e dans les lasers et les fibres optiques). Leurs courtes longueurs d\u2019onde signifient que les signaux t\u00e9rahertz (THz) peuvent transmettre de grandes quantit\u00e9s de donn\u00e9es tr\u00e8s rapidement, mais connecter le rayonnement THz aux technologies optiques et micro-ondes existantes s\u2019est av\u00e9r\u00e9 extr\u00eamement difficile.<\/p>\n<p>En 2023, des scientifiques du\u00a0Laboratoire de photonique hybride\u00a0ont fait un pas de plus pour combler ce foss\u00e9. Ils ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 une\u00a0puce photonique extr\u00eamement fine\u00a0en niobate de lithium qui produit des ondes THz finement ajustables lorsqu\u2019elle est connect\u00e9e \u00e0 un faisceau laser. Aujourd\u2019hui, l\u2019\u00e9quipe a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une nouvelle conception qui non seulement g\u00e9n\u00e8re des ondes THz, mais d\u00e9tecte \u00e9galement les ondes entrantes en les convertissant en signaux optiques.<\/p>\n<p>Cette conversion bidirectionnelle sur une seule plate-forme miniaturis\u00e9e est une \u00e9tape essentielle pour combler les lacunes dans les domaines THz et optique, et pourrait permettre le d\u00e9veloppement de dispositifs compacts et \u00e9conomes en \u00e9nergie pour la communication, la d\u00e9tection, la spectroscopie et l\u2019informatique.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-484064 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.eenewseurope.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/EPFL-Plateforme-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"257\" height=\"171\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 257px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 257\/171;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00abEn plus de d\u00e9montrer la premi\u00e8re d\u00e9tection d\u2019impulsions THz sur une puce de circuit photonique au niobate de lithium, nous avons g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 des champs \u00e9lectriques THz plus de 100 fois plus puissants et avons multipli\u00e9 la largeur de bande par cinq (passant de 680 GHz \u00e0 3,5 THz)\u00bb, explique Cristina Benea-Chelmus, responsable du Laboratoire de photonique hybride.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Du radar t\u00e9rahertz aux communications 6 G<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yazan Lampert, doctorant et principal auteur, explique que la conception innovante de l\u2019\u00e9quipe porte sur l\u2019int\u00e9gration de structures de la taille d\u2019un micron appel\u00e9es lignes de transmission dans leur puce photonique en niobate de lithium. Ces lignes agissent comme des c\u00e2bles radio \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle d\u2019une puce pour guider les ondes THz le long de la puce.
