{"id":483547,"date":"2025-07-23T09:26:02","date_gmt":"2025-07-23T07:26:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ecinews.fr\/?p=483547"},"modified":"2025-07-23T09:26:02","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T07:26:02","slug":"le-premier-hpc-photonique-dia-au-monde-est-europeen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ecinews.fr\/fr\/le-premier-hpc-photonique-dia-au-monde-est-europeen\/","title":{"rendered":"Le premier  HPC photonique d&rsquo;IA au monde est europ\u00e9en"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Le d\u00e9veloppeur allemand de processeurs photoniques Q.ANT a livr\u00e9 son Native Processing Server (NPS) au Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ), marquant ainsi la premi\u00e8re int\u00e9gration d&rsquo;un coprocesseur photonique analogique dans un environnement op\u00e9rationnel de calcul \u00e0 haute performance (HPC).<\/p>\n<p>Il s&rsquo;agit du premier d\u00e9ploiement qui permet au LRZ d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer l&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration photonique pour l&rsquo;intelligence artificielle (IA) et les charges de travail de simulation avec une consommation d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie consid\u00e9rablement r\u00e9duite. Le LRZ est l&rsquo;un des plus grands centres de donn\u00e9es d&rsquo;Europe, dot\u00e9 d&rsquo;une infrastructure de pointe et d&rsquo;une recherche pionni\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>Cette collaboration vise \u00e0 \u00e9tudier les architectures hybrides num\u00e9riques-analogiques pour les futurs environnements HPC et est financ\u00e9e par le minist\u00e8re f\u00e9d\u00e9ral allemand de la recherche, de la technologie et de l&rsquo;espace. En d\u00e9ployant le NPS de Q.ANT, le LRZ \u00e9tend ce champ d&rsquo;application \u00e0 l&rsquo;informatique analogique photonique.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eenewseurope.com\/en\/q-ant-raises-e62m-to-scale-up-photonic-processor-production\/\">Q.ANT l\u00e8ve 62 millions d&rsquo;euros pour augmenter la production de processeurs photoniques<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eenewseurope.com\/en\/q-ant-opens-pilot-line-for-optical-processor-production\/\">Ligne pilote pour la production de processeurs photoniques<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Le LRZ utilisera le Q.ANT NPS dans le cadre d&rsquo;un projet de recherche visant \u00e0 \u00e9tablir de nouvelles r\u00e9f\u00e9rences et des cas d&rsquo;utilisation r\u00e9els pour des applications telles que la mod\u00e9lisation climatique, l&rsquo;imagerie m\u00e9dicale en temps r\u00e9el ou la simulation de mat\u00e9riaux pour la recherche sur la fusion. Avec ce d\u00e9ploiement, le LRZ renforce son r\u00f4le de pionnier dans le d\u00e9veloppement d&rsquo;ordinateurs \u00e0 haute performance et \u00e0 faible consommation d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie.<\/p>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re phase d&rsquo;\u00e9valuation au LRZ comprend l&rsquo;installation de plusieurs unit\u00e9s de la derni\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de NPS Q.ANT, la s\u00e9lection de charges de travail de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence et le test d&rsquo;applications r\u00e9elles &#8211; en particulier dans l&rsquo;inf\u00e9rence de l&rsquo;IA, la vision par ordinateur et les simulations de physique. Les phases ult\u00e9rieures incluront des unit\u00e9s NPS de deuxi\u00e8me et troisi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pour une \u00e9valuation plus approfondie.<\/p>\n<p>La puce photonique de Q.ANT ne g\u00e9n\u00e8re pas de chaleur, ce qui rend inutiles les mesures de refroidissement co\u00fbteuses. Le traitement optique signifie \u00e9galement que les calculs complexes peuvent \u00eatre effectu\u00e9s plus rapidement et plus efficacement avec une consommation d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 90 fois inf\u00e9rieure par charge de travail, en raison de l&rsquo;absence de chaleur sur la puce et des exigences r\u00e9duites en mati\u00e8re de refroidissement.Cela permet de multiplier par 100 la capacit\u00e9 des centres de donn\u00e9es gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une plus grande densit\u00e9 de calcul et \u00e0 une ex\u00e9cution plus rapide des op\u00e9rations complexes, explique Q.ANT.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Les processeurs photoniques offrent une voie nouvelle et prometteuse pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer les charges de travail d&rsquo;IA et de simulation, tout en r\u00e9duisant fortement notre empreinte environnementale. Ce d\u00e9ploiement marque une \u00e9tape importante dans notre future mission informatique visant \u00e0 faire progresser l&rsquo;IA \u00e9conome en \u00e9nergie et le calcul de haute performance\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le professeur Dieter Kranzlm\u00fcller, pr\u00e9sident du conseil d&rsquo;administration de LRZ. \u00ab\u00a0Le NPS de Q.ANT s&rsquo;int\u00e8gre facilement dans notre infrastructure existante, ce qui nous permet d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer imm\u00e9diatement ses performances. L&rsquo;introduction de technologies futures et l&rsquo;ouverture de nouvelles voies pour nos utilisateurs ne seraient toutefois pas possibles sans le soutien continu du gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral et du gouvernement bavarois.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Notre collaboration avec LRZ marque une \u00e9tape d\u00e9cisive : pour la premi\u00e8re fois dans l&rsquo;histoire, nous faisons fonctionner des processeurs photoniques dans un HPC avec des charges de travail pratiques. Avec cette \u00e9tape, nous d\u00e9montrons que les processeurs \u00e0 base de lumi\u00e8re ont d\u00e9pass\u00e9 le stade de la recherche pour entrer dans le monde des applications r\u00e9elles\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Michael F\u00f6rtsch, PDG de Q.ANT. \u00ab\u00a0Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une \u00e9tape d\u00e9cisive vers l&rsquo;int\u00e9gration de l&rsquo;informatique photonique dans le courant dominant de l&rsquo;architecture informatique de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d&rsquo;ici 2030.
