Cela ouvre la voie \u00e0 des interconnexions beaucoup plus rapides dans les centres de donn\u00e9es et les architectures informatiques \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imec-int.com\/en\/press\/imec-presents-150-gsas-digital-analog-converter-dac-achieving-300-gbs-data-transmission\">indique l&rsquo;<\/a>imec.<\/p>\n<p>Construit sur la plateforme CMOS FinFET 5 nm avanc\u00e9e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eenewseurope.com\/en\/imec-proposes-reconfigurable-ai-chips\/\">d&rsquo;imec<\/a>, le DAC r\u00e9pond aux d\u00e9fis croissants de la conception de liaisons \u00e0 haut d\u00e9bit. Alors que les charges de travail de l&rsquo;IA et du cloud deviennent de plus en plus gourmandes en donn\u00e9es, les solutions existantes de conversion analogique-num\u00e9rique et num\u00e9rique-analogique ont eu du mal \u00e0 suivre le rythme sans faire exploser les compromis en mati\u00e8re de puissance, de latence et d&rsquo;int\u00e9grit\u00e9 du signal.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Ossieur, responsable du programme d&rsquo;\u00e9metteurs-r\u00e9cepteurs \u00e0 grande vitesse de l&rsquo;imec, a soulign\u00e9 que la nouvelle puce repr\u00e9sente une combinaison convaincante de vitesse et d&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique &#8211; une raret\u00e9 \u00e0 ce niveau de performance. L&rsquo;annonce de l&rsquo;Imec est un signal strat\u00e9gique : la recherche et la conception nationales peuvent suivre le rythme des demandes mondiales des \u00e9quipementiers en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;interconnexions de donn\u00e9es \u00e0 tr\u00e8s grande \u00e9chelle. Les 150 GSa\/s constituent une \u00e9tape importante. Alors qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;\u00e9tait auparavant r\u00e9alisable que dans des laboratoires d&rsquo;int\u00e9gration verticale ou par des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s propri\u00e9taires, le prototype d&rsquo;Imec permet d\u00e9sormais d&rsquo;atteindre cette capacit\u00e9 dans le CMOS FinFET courant.<\/p>\n<p>Le contexte du DAC est crucial. Associ\u00e9e \u00e0 une horloge \u00e0 faible gigue au niveau de la femto seconde et \u00e0 la signalisation PAM-4, la conception analogique r\u00e9pond \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9volution de l&rsquo;industrie vers les liaisons \u00e0 plusieurs voies, 400 GbE et au-del\u00e0. Ainsi, ce dispositif peut servir de base aux futurs convertisseurs 300-400 GSa\/s destin\u00e9s aux liaisons \u00e0 bande passante de 100 GHz.<\/p>\n<p>Pour les \u00e9quipes de conception analogique et les fabricants de semi-conducteurs europ\u00e9ens, cette avanc\u00e9e repr\u00e9sente une opportunit\u00e9. L&rsquo;expertise d&rsquo;imec en mati\u00e8re de process et d&rsquo;architecture peut d\u00e9sormais \u00e9tayer les ASIC de SerDes et d&rsquo;\u00e9metteurs-r\u00e9cepteurs optiques de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Dans le m\u00eame temps, les concurrents mondiaux s&rsquo;orientent vers des structures de commutation \u00e0 56 Tbit\/s, des acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateurs d&rsquo;intelligence artificielle et des processeurs exa-scales, qui exigent tous des E\/S ultra-efficaces et \u00e0 grande vitesse.<\/p>\n<h2>Conception de la puce de l&rsquo;UE<\/h2>\n<p>Le pivot r\u00e9oriente la conception des puces europ\u00e9ennes. L&rsquo;accent n&rsquo;est plus mis sur les licences de propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle et les processus h\u00e9rit\u00e9s, mais sur l&rsquo;innovation en mati\u00e8re de signaux mixtes \u00e0 grande vitesse, cruciale pour l&rsquo;infrastructure de donn\u00e9es de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Questions cl\u00e9s pour les dirigeants : Qui int\u00e9grera ce DAC en premier ? Et comment \u00e9volueront la mise \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle pour la production de masse et le co\u00fbt par puce ?<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9claration de l&rsquo;imec selon laquelle les prochaines \u00e9tapes consisteront \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0doubler le taux d&rsquo;\u00e9chantillonnage \u00e0 300 GSa\/s et \u00e0 pousser la bande passante au-del\u00e0 de 100 GHz\u00a0\u00bb \u00e9tablit une trajectoire claire. Pour les ing\u00e9nieurs professionnels qui travaillent sur des interfaces analogiques \u00e0 grande vitesse, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une rare conception de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence ancr\u00e9e dans le monde r\u00e9el et issue de la recherche et du d\u00e9veloppement europ\u00e9ens.
