Ce processus, connu sous le nom de blanchiment optique, induit un effet non lin\u00e9aire qui modifie temporairement les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s d&rsquo;un mat\u00e9riau. Cependant, la plupart des mat\u00e9riaux pr\u00e9sentent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement une non-lin\u00e9arit\u00e9 optique unicolore sous une illumination laser intense, ce qui limite leur utilisation dans les syst\u00e8mes n\u00e9cessitant des capacit\u00e9s de commutation multicolore ou multibande. Almossalami du College of Optical Science and Engineering de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Zhejiang (Chine), le professeur Naoomi Yamada du d\u00e9partement de chimie appliqu\u00e9e de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Chubu (Japon) et le docteur Takashi Yagi de l&rsquo;Institut national des sciences et technologies industrielles avanc\u00e9es (Japon), a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de commutation optique multivall\u00e9aire dans les films de germanium (Ge). Ils se sont concentr\u00e9s sur la mani\u00e8re dont une irradiation laser intense induit une commutation optique ultrarapide sur plusieurs longueurs d&rsquo;onde dans le Ge, un semi-conducteur multivall\u00e9e. Leur \u00e9tude a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 une commutation optique multicolore efficace \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;un laser \u00e0 impulsion \u00e0 couleur unique, ce qui pourrait permettre de surmonter les limites des non-lin\u00e9arit\u00e9s optiques traditionnelles \u00e0 couleur unique.
