La puce a des besoins tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9s en mati\u00e8re de traitement informatique et, bien entendu, de tels dispositifs pr\u00e9sentent \u00e9galement des caract\u00e9ristiques de consommation d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie importantes\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le professeur Wim Dehaene de la KU Leuven, qui travaille dans la division de recherche MICAS du d\u00e9partement d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie \u00e9lectrique de la KU Leuven.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, MICAS a mis au point un calcul num\u00e9rique en m\u00e9moire (DIMC) pour la reconnaissance visuelle qui utilise des quantit\u00e9s substantielles de m\u00e9moire SRAM. La puce FinFET 16 nm de HUNBN pr\u00e9sente un acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur complet bas\u00e9 sur l&rsquo;IMC. Elle montre que le DIMC est une alternative \u00e9conome en \u00e9nergie pour les acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateurs classiques, en particulier lorsque le mod\u00e8le est de taille mod\u00e9r\u00e9e et peut tenir en une seule fois sur la puce.
