L&rsquo;usine sera mise en place pour permettre l&rsquo;int\u00e9gration au niveau de la plaquette de circuits CMOS et MEMS, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Edvard K\u00e4lvesten, PDG et fondateur de Silex, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;introduction de cette nouvelle taille de wafers augmentera consid\u00e9rablement la capacit\u00e9 de production alors que nous nous effor\u00e7ons de r\u00e9aliser les innovations des plus grands innovateurs mondiaux en mati\u00e8re de MEMS. Chez Silex, nous sommes fiers de rester \u00e0 la pointe du progr\u00e8s technologique, et l&rsquo;introduction des capacit\u00e9s de traitement des wafers de 12 pouces nous permettra d&rsquo;\u00eatre \u00e0 la pointe du progr\u00e8s et de rester la premi\u00e8re fonderie de MEMS au niveau mondial\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 n&rsquo;a pas fourni d&rsquo;informations sur la construction de l&rsquo;usine de fabrication de plaquettes, sur sa capacit\u00e9 de production pr\u00e9vue ou sur une date de d\u00e9but de production des composants.<\/p>\n<p>Alors que les usines de fabrication de plaquettes pour la production de logique avanc\u00e9e peuvent co\u00fbter des milliards de dollars US, les usines de fabrication de plaquettes pour les MEMS utilisent des g\u00e9om\u00e9tries matures et des \u00e9quipements beaucoup moins co\u00fbteux. Une telle usine pourrait \u00eatre cr\u00e9\u00e9e pour quelques dizaines de millions de dollars US. Par exemple, Menlo Microsystems Inc. (Irvine, Californie), ancien client de Silex, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il d\u00e9penserait 50 millions de dollars US sur plusieurs ann\u00e9es pour construire une usine de fabrication de plaquettes pour les commutateurs MEMS RF et de puissance \u00e0 Ithaca, dans l&rsquo;\u00c9tat de New York.
