Stuart Parkin, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l&rsquo;Institut Max Planck de physique des microstructures, qui a travaill\u00e9 37 ans chez IBM et qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 membre de l&rsquo;IBM Fellow, est l&rsquo;un des coauteurs de l&rsquo;article.<\/p>\n<p>Les memcondensateurs de Semron sont fabriqu\u00e9s \u00e0 partir de mat\u00e9riaux semiconducteurs conventionnels d\u00e9pos\u00e9s sur des plaques de silicium sur isolant (SOI). Ils fonctionnent en exploitant le blindage des charges. Les memcondensateurs contr\u00f4lent un champ \u00e9lectrique entre une \u00e9lectrode sup\u00e9rieure et une \u00e9lectrode inf\u00e9rieure par l&rsquo;interm\u00e9diaire d&rsquo;une \u00ab\u00a0couche de blindage\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La CapRAM est constitu\u00e9e de r\u00e9seaux planaires de condensateurs m\u00e9moires qui peuvent \u00e9galement \u00eatre empil\u00e9s dans la troisi\u00e8me dimension. Cela permet d&rsquo;obtenir une densit\u00e9 de traitement extr\u00eame. Semron envisage d&#8217;empiler jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 100 couches d&rsquo;une mani\u00e8re similaire aux m\u00e9moires flash 3D-NAND.<\/p>\n<p>Pour rester compacte tout en g\u00e9n\u00e9rant un minimum de chaleur, l&rsquo;architecture utilise un syst\u00e8me de calcul analogique en m\u00e9moire \u00e9quivalent \u00e0 plusieurs bits.
