Ce travail de pionnier, men\u00e9 par le professeur Camille Br\u00e8s et le chercheur postdoctoral Marco Clementi de la Facult\u00e9 des sciences de l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieur de l&rsquo;EPFL, repr\u00e9sente une avanc\u00e9e significative dans le domaine de la photonique, avec des implications pour les t\u00e9l\u00e9communications, la m\u00e9trologie et d&rsquo;autres applications de haute pr\u00e9cision.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9tude, publi\u00e9e dans la revue Light : Science &amp; Applications, r\u00e9v\u00e8le comment les chercheurs du PHOSL, en collaboration avec le Laboratoire de photonique et de mesures quantiques, ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 int\u00e9grer des lasers \u00e0 semiconducteurs dans des circuits photoniques en nitrure de silicium contenant des micror\u00e9sonateurs. Cette int\u00e9gration permet d&rsquo;obtenir un dispositif hybride capable d&rsquo;\u00e9mettre une lumi\u00e8re tr\u00e8s uniforme et pr\u00e9cise dans les domaines du proche infrarouge et du visible, comblant ainsi une lacune technologique qui a longtemps pos\u00e9 probl\u00e8me \u00e0 l&rsquo;industrie.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Les lasers \u00e0 semiconducteurs sont omnipr\u00e9sents dans la technologie moderne, depuis les smartphones jusqu&rsquo;aux communications par fibre optique.
