Des plaquettes de diamant ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 produites, mais \u00e0 partir de poudre de diamant comprim\u00e9e et sans les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s du diamant monocristallin.<\/p>\n<p>Diamond Foundry a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que son prochain objectif \u00e9tait de r\u00e9duire la densit\u00e9 des d\u00e9fauts de ses plaquettes de diamant afin d&rsquo;obtenir un facteur de m\u00e9rite 17 200 fois sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui du silicium et 60 fois sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui du carbure de silicium. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 exploite une installation de production de diamants et de plaquettes dans l&rsquo;\u00c9tat de Washington.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;entreprise a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9e en 2012 et op\u00e8re sur le march\u00e9 des bijoux et des produits de luxe ainsi que dans le secteur des semiconducteurs. Sur son site Linkedin, l&rsquo;entreprise d\u00e9clare avoir re\u00e7u un financement de 515 millions de dollars et mettre en \u0153uvre un plan d&rsquo;expansion de plusieurs milliards de dollars en transformant les gaz \u00e0 effet de serre en plaquettes de diamant \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;une \u00e9nergie sans \u00e9mission de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre.<\/p>\n<p>Une entreprise fran\u00e7aise similaire, Diamfab \u00e0 Grenoble a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 2019.
