Il convient \u00e0 une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019applications de suivi d\u2019altitude et aux applications hautes performances telles que les mesures de fitness avec \u00b16 Pa, ce qui correspond \u00e0 une diff\u00e9rence de hauteur de \u00b150 cm, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 un coefficient de temp\u00e9rature d\u00e9cal\u00e9 (TCO) de 0,5 Pa \/ K. De m\u00eame, ce composant correspond aux applications de localisation, telles que les produits de d\u00e9tection du niveau du sol lors des appels d\u2019urgence (E-911), et d\u00e9tecte \u00e9galement les niveaux d\u2019eau et les chutes. Le BMP581 dispose de MEMS ainsi que d\u2019interfaces SPI et I3C. Sa consommation d\u2019\u00e9nergie moyenne est de 1,3 \u03bcA @ 1 Hz de pression et de temp\u00e9rature et de 0,5 \u03bcA en mode veille basse. Sa pr\u00e9cision absolue est de \u00b130 Pa et la tension de fonctionnement est comprise entre 1,65 V et 3,6 V.
