Cependant, la conversion de puissance entra\u00eene une perte d\u2019\u00e9nergie.\u00a0Le nitrure de gallium (GaN) et d\u2019autres mat\u00e9riaux peuvent r\u00e9duire consid\u00e9rablement les pertes occasionn\u00e9es par les phases de conversion en courant et en tension.<\/p>\n<p>Pour la gamme 100-650 V, les technologies GaN-sur-silicium (GaN\/Si) compl\u00e8tent les possibilit\u00e9s actuelles des composants en carbure de silicium et silicium. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 r\u00e9cemment, ces technologies \u00e9taient trop co\u00fbteuses pour \u00eatre utilis\u00e9es dans des applications de conversion de puissance. Mais pouss\u00e9s par les besoins des industries a\u00e9ronautique et automobile pour des convertisseurs de puissance tr\u00e8s compacts et efficaces \u00e0 faible co\u00fbt, les centres de R&amp;D sont aujourd\u2019hui pionniers de nouvelles techniques GaN.
