Pour ce faire, il s&rsquo;appuie sur l&rsquo;effet tribo&eacute;lectrique, un type de production &eacute;lectrique dans lequel une charge &eacute;lectrique est produite &agrave; partir du contact ou du frottement entre deux objets ou mat&eacute;riaux diff&eacute;rents.<\/p>\n<p>Une &eacute;lectrode int&eacute;gr&eacute;e dans un segment d&rsquo;un pneumatique est utilis&eacute;e pour capter la charge qui en r&eacute;sulte. Les chercheurs voient cela comme une voie prometteuse pour r&eacute;cup&eacute;rer une partie de l&rsquo;&eacute;nergie qui est habituellement perdue en raison de la friction.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Le frottement entre le pneu et le sol absorbe environ 10% du carburant consomm&eacute; par un v&eacute;hicule&raquo;, dit Wang Xudong, professeur agr&eacute;g&eacute; de science des mat&eacute;riaux et de l&rsquo;ing&eacute;nierie &agrave; l&rsquo;UW-Madison. &quot;Cette &eacute;nergie est gaspill&eacute;e. Donc, si nous pouvons convertir cette &eacute;nergie, ce serait un moyen d&rsquo;am&eacute;liorer l&rsquo;efficacit&eacute; du carburant.&quot;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Pour leurs premiers essais, les chercheurs ont utilis&eacute; une &quot;voiture jouet&quot; &eacute;quip&eacute;e de six LED afin de d&eacute;montrer le concept. Une multitude d&rsquo;&eacute;lectrodes a &eacute;t&eacute; fix&eacute;e aux pneus de ce v&eacute;hicule, et d&egrave;s que la voiture a roul&eacute;, les LEDs ont flash&eacute;. Les mesures ont montr&eacute; que la puissance instantan&eacute;e maximale obtenue &eacute;tait de 1,79 mW &agrave; une r&eacute;sistance de charge de 10 M&#8486; &#8211; correspondant &agrave; un rendement de conversion d&rsquo;&eacute;nergie de 10,4%.<br \/>\nLes chercheurs ont &eacute;galement d&eacute;termin&eacute; que l&rsquo;&eacute;nergie augmente avec le poids et la vitesse du v&eacute;hicule.
