Le but : &eacute;tudier, &agrave; toute petite &eacute;chelle, le comportement des mat&eacute;riaux dans des conditions extr&ecirc;mes similaires &agrave; celles atteintes lors du fonctionnement nucl&eacute;aire des armes. Pour r&eacute;pondre &agrave; ce d&eacute;fi technologique, les industriels, notamment les adh&eacute;rents de l&rsquo;AFOP, ont d&ucirc; se soumettre &agrave; un haut niveau d&rsquo;exigence :<\/p>\n<p>-exigence au niveau de l&rsquo;organisation m&ecirc;me de la structure, pour &ecirc;tre capable de mener &agrave; bien, sur de longues ann&eacute;es, un projet aussi complexe ;<\/p>\n<p>-exigence pour la mise au point des syst&egrave;mes de fabrication des composants entrant dans la construction du LMJ et pour les syst&egrave;mes de positionnement de haute pr&eacute;cision utilis&eacute;s lors du montage et de l&rsquo;alignement du laser ;<\/p>\n<p>-exigence sur les performances des moyens de contr&ocirc;le, certains composants n&eacute;cessitant m&ecirc;me le d&eacute;veloppement d&rsquo;outils de mesure sp&eacute;cifiques ;<\/p>\n<p>-exigence enfin et surtout sur les sp&eacute;cifications des composants, leur taille et les pr&eacute;cisions demand&eacute;es repr&eacute;sentant, comme le souligne la plupart des entreprises &quot; un d&eacute;fi technologique hors-norme &quot;.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Une exp&eacute;rience qui ouvre d&eacute;j&agrave; de nouveaux march&eacute;s<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Au-del&agrave; des cr&eacute;ations d&rsquo;emplois directement li&eacute;es &agrave; la construction du LMJ, les industriels insistent sur l&rsquo;avance technologique, la notori&eacute;t&eacute; et la cr&eacute;dibilit&eacute; que leur donnent les d&eacute;veloppements r&eacute;alis&eacute;s pour r&eacute;pondre aux exigences de ce projet.<\/p>\n<p>De nouveaux march&eacute;s exigeants tels que le spatial, l&rsquo;astronomie ou les acc&eacute;l&eacute;rateurs de particules, sont ainsi d&eacute;j&agrave; accessibles &agrave; ces entreprises, et ce malgr&eacute; la relative taille de certaines. Et les produits d&eacute;velopp&eacute;s pour le LMJ ont aussi conduit &agrave; des produits maintenant &laquo; catalogue &raquo;, destin&eacute;s par exemple aux communications tr&egrave;s haut d&eacute;bit ou &agrave; l&rsquo;industrie du laser industriel.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Et demain ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De nouvelles recherches ont d&eacute;j&agrave; &eacute;t&eacute; lanc&eacute;es ou sont en cours de lancement par le CEA pour que les comp&eacute;tences et les expertises d&eacute;velopp&eacute;es dans le cadre du LMJ puissent demain servir d&rsquo;autres projets ambitieux. Parall&egrave;lement, des d&eacute;veloppements ont toujours lieu en lien avec le LMJ, notamment pour &eacute;quiper les diff&eacute;rentes exp&eacute;riences qui seront men&eacute;es gr&acirc;ce au laser.
