Ses applications comprennent le stockage de donn&eacute;es tr&egrave;s denses, les contr&ocirc;leurs de passerelle et les &eacute;quipements de r&eacute;seau de 40 Gbits\/s &agrave; 100 Gbits\/s.<br \/>\nLa mise en &oelig;uvre de ce circuit tient sur une carte double face de 0,5 cm2 ou de moins 1 cm2 sur une carte PCB simple face. Sa petite taille et son faible poids font qu&rsquo;il peut &ecirc;tre mont&eacute; au verso de la carte, lib&eacute;rant ainsi de l&rsquo;espace au recto pour des composants comme une m&eacute;moire et des FPGA.<br \/>\nCe r&eacute;gulateur requiert seulement un condensateur en entr&eacute;e et un autre en sortie, une r&eacute;sistance pour fixer la tension de sortie Vout et un petit condensateur pour le suivi et le d&eacute;marrage progressif de cette derni&egrave;re. Avec une alimentation auxiliaire de polarisation de 5 V, il fonctionne sur des tensions d&rsquo;entr&eacute;e aussi basses que 2,375 V. Le rendement de la conversion de 12 V en entr&eacute;e vers 5 V ou 3 V en sortie est respectivement de 80% ou 88%. Les pertes d&rsquo;une conversion de 12 V en entr&eacute;e en 1,5 V en sortie s&rsquo;&eacute;l&egrave;vent &agrave; 1.1 W avec un accroissement de la temp&eacute;rature de la jonction de seulement 24 &deg;C.
