A ce jour, selon une &eacute;tude publi&eacute;e dans la revue de l&rsquo;American Heart Association, il appara&icirc;t suffisamment fiable pour une implantation chez les patients. Ce petit stimulateur cylindrique de 6 mm de diam&egrave;tre et environ 42 mm de long est implant&eacute; dans le ventricule droit. Il surveille l&rsquo;activit&eacute; cardiaque et pour que le c&oelig;ur batte &agrave; un rythme normal, il lui envoi des impulsions &eacute;lectriques lorsque cela est &nbsp;n&eacute;cessaire pour. Ce mini stimulateur est programmable et ce contr&ocirc;le comme les stimulateurs actuels. La dur&eacute;e de vie de la pile est identique &agrave; celle des stimulateurs actuels.
