Il existe deux types majeurs de SEE : d&rsquo;une part les perturbations par particule isol&eacute;e, ou SEU (Single Event Upset), qui sont non destructives et r&eacute;versibles, et d&rsquo;autre part les latchup par une particule isol&eacute;e, ou SEL (Single Event Latchup), qui sont souvent catastrophiques, car &agrave; l&rsquo;origine de d&eacute;gradations permanentes requ&eacute;rant au minimum la mise hors tension pour &ecirc;tre r&eacute;par&eacute;es. Les SEL peuvent se produire lorsqu&rsquo;une particule fortement charg&eacute;e en &eacute;nergie frappe un semi-conducteur, causant un court-circuit entre l&rsquo;alimentation et la terre au sein du composant. Les circuits int&eacute;gr&eacute;s RF fabriqu&eacute;s &agrave; l&rsquo;aide de la technologie UltraCMOS ne contiennent pas les nombreux parasites habituellement pr&eacute;sents dans les composants CMOS, ce qui rend impossible tout ph&eacute;nom&egrave;ne de latchup (ou claquage).<\/p>\n<p>La technologie UltraCMOS de Peregrine consiste en un proc&eacute;d&eacute; SOI (Silicon-On-Insulator, silicium sur isolant) RF avanc&eacute; utilisant un substrat de saphir synth&eacute;tique, constituant un isolant &eacute;lectrique presque parfait. Gr&acirc;ce &agrave; ce substrat, on obtient une faible capacit&eacute; parasite, une isolation du signal &eacute;lev&eacute;e, une excellente lin&eacute;arit&eacute; en haut d&eacute;bit, ainsi que l&rsquo;immunit&eacute; aux SEL inh&eacute;rente.
