La miniaturisation de la taille du pixel r&eacute;duit toutefois la quantit&eacute; de lumi&egrave;re entrant par le point image, ce qui impacte d&eacute;favorablement la qualit&eacute; globale de l&rsquo;image. Cette miniaturisation influence la performance de la sensibilit&eacute; lumineuse et le rapport signal sur bruit (SNR) dans les imageurs actuels en technologie 1,12 &micro;m. La technologie BSI contribue &agrave; am&eacute;liorer la sensibilit&eacute; mais ne r&eacute;ussit pas &agrave; rehausser la qualit&eacute; d&rsquo;image. Le fait d&rsquo;int&eacute;grer les fonctions d&rsquo;&eacute;clairage arri&egrave;re BSI et de r&eacute;duction des bruits color&eacute;s CNR sur la puce m&ecirc;me du capteur permet r&eacute;soudre les deux probl&egrave;mes de la sensibilit&eacute; &agrave; faible luminosit&eacute; et du rapport signal sur bruit. En effet, ce capteur d&rsquo;image CMOS pr&eacute;sente une valeur SNR qui est environ 1,5 fois plus &eacute;lev&eacute;e que celle d&rsquo;un imageur 1,12 &micro;m non dot&eacute; d&rsquo;une fonction CNR.
