Curiosity est le robot le plus gros et le plus complexe jamais envoy&eacute; sur une autre plan&egrave;te. Les capteurs d&rsquo;imagerie e2v &eacute;quipent &agrave; la fois l&rsquo;instrument CheMin (Chemistry and Mineralogy), d&eacute;velopp&eacute; par le laboratoire JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) de la NASA, et l&rsquo;instrument ChemCam (Chemistry &amp; Camera) du robot, d&eacute;velopp&eacute; par le Laboratoire national de Los Alamos dans le cadre d&rsquo;un contrat avec le laboratoire JPL. L&rsquo;instrument CheMin permettra d&rsquo;identifier et d&rsquo;analyser les min&eacute;raux pr&eacute;sents sur la plan&egrave;te &agrave; l&rsquo;aide de techniques de d&eacute;tection de rayons X sophistiqu&eacute;es. L&rsquo;instrument ChemCam est constitu&eacute; d&rsquo;un laser, qui sera utilis&eacute; pour vaporiser des &eacute;chantillons rocheux, ainsi que d&rsquo;une cam&eacute;ra utilisant la spectroscopie par claquage laser (SCL) pour analyser les r&eacute;sidus produits.<br \/>\nL&rsquo;instrument CheMin est &eacute;quip&eacute; du CCD224 e2v, un capteur d&rsquo;imagerie sp&eacute;cialis&eacute;, optimis&eacute; pour la d&eacute;tection des rayons X en environnement spatial. Ce capteur d&rsquo;imagerie hautes performances s&rsquo;appuie sur une technologie mise en &oelig;uvre pour la premi&egrave;re fois dans le satellite de d&eacute;tection de rayons X XMM-Newton de l&rsquo;Agence Spatiale Europ&eacute;enne, o&ugrave; il fonctionne avec succ&egrave;s depuis 10 ans dans l&rsquo;instrument EPIC. L&rsquo;instrument CheMin &eacute;tendra ainsi l&rsquo;utilisation de la technologie de capteur d&rsquo;imagerie de rayons X d&rsquo;e2v &agrave; la surface martienne.<br \/>\nL&rsquo;instrument ChemCam est &eacute;quip&eacute; du CCD42-10 e2v, qui fait partie d&rsquo;une gamme standard de capteurs d&rsquo;imagerie utilis&eacute;e dans diverses applications commerciales et hautes performances, y compris l&rsquo;astronomie au sol et dans l&rsquo;espace, ainsi que la spectroscopie.
