Bas\u00e9s sur une technologie \u00e0 d\u00e9coupage, ces mod\u00e8les sont compatibles en termes d\u2019empreinte avec le bo\u00eetier TO-220 des r\u00e9gulateurs LM78XX et LM79XX et, contrairement aux r\u00e9gulateurs lin\u00e9aires, ne n\u00e9cessitent pas de dissipateur de chaleur. Ils conviennent donc parfaitement pour une utilisation dans les appareils portables, les \u00e9quipements aliment\u00e9s par batterie et les conceptions embarqu\u00e9es o\u00f9 l&rsquo;espace sur la carte et le rendement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique sont des caract\u00e9ristiques critiques.<\/p>\n<p>La s\u00e9rie VX78 encapsul\u00e9e et la s\u00e9rie VXO78 \u00e0 cadre ouvert, convenant aux applications \u00e0 sortie positive ou n\u00e9gative, offrent toutes deux un choix de courant de sortie de 500 mA et 1 A et affichent des valeurs de courant d&rsquo;entr\u00e9e sans charge aussi faibles que 0,2 mA. Conditionn\u00e9s dans une empreinte SIP ultra-compacte \u00e0 3 broches, les mod\u00e8les encapsul\u00e9s ne mesurent que 0,45 x 0,29 x 0,40 pouces (11,60 x 7,55 x 10,16 mm), tandis que les versions \u00e0 cadre ouvert ont des dimensions encore plus petites de 0,39 x 0,28 x 0,43 pouces (10,00 X 7,20 x 11,00 mm). La s\u00e9rie 500 mA accepte une large gamme de tensions d&rsquo;entr\u00e9e couvrant 4,75 \u00e0 36 Vdc, tandis que la s\u00e9rie 1 A est con\u00e7ue pour des valeurs de tension d&rsquo;entr\u00e9e allant de 6 \u00e0 36 Vdc. Selon les mod\u00e8les, les valeurs nominales de tension disponibles en sortie sont de 3,3, 5, 9, 12 ou 15 Vdc. Les temp\u00e9ratures de fonctionnement pour tous les mod\u00e8les varient de -40 \u00e0 +71 \u00b0 C \u00e0 pleine charge, avec un d\u00e9classement \u00e0 60% pour +85\u00b0C. Ces convertisseurs DC-DC non isol\u00e9s se caract\u00e9risent \u00e9galement par un minimum d\u2019ondulation et de bruit, par une protection continue contre les courts-circuits et par des certifications de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 UL 60950-1 et CSA, ainsi que de la marque CE. Tous les mod\u00e8les garantissent un MTBF minimum de 2 000 000 heures \u00e0 +25\u00b0C de temp\u00e9rature ambiante, selon le calcul
