Le composant offre les fonctions d\u2019un syst\u00e8me de surveillance et de gestion PowerPath avanc\u00e9es, avec le contr\u00f4le du bon \u00e9tat&nbsp;de la batterie. Alors qu\u2019un microcontr\u00f4leur h\u00f4te est requis pour avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la plupart des caract\u00e9ristiques avanc\u00e9es du LTC4162, l\u2019emploi d\u2019un port I2C est optionnel.
